I will take legal action if it is not taken care of because it is illegal. How in the flipping hell do you put a contract on someone that never signed for it? The only reason I put a star is because this post required one.



You don't even deserve a star. We had been with vivint for 4 years. After unacceptable customer service we decided to move to another company. We sent a letter to vivint on may 9 cancelling service. They continued to bill thru September.



Faxed them a copy of our original letter dated may We get a collection call when we stopped auto draft. This company is a huge scam stay far far away from them at all cost. Next call is to the better business bureau.



What is the point of having a security system! I should have known better. I should have done my research. I'm a new home owner and last year a sales rep came by my house with a "great" offer. I got a doorbell camera, smart lock, security panel, smart fire alarm and the phone app all for "free" all I had to do was display their sign in my front yard and pay my monthly service.



Then the doorbell camera broke within a month. THEN the security panel would not interface with my phone. Now all the batteries on what does work are dying. The first few times I called I ended up waiting over an hour before giving up because I'm busy ya know?



I received one of their e-mail surveys, so I have them all 1's hoping that would trigger a follow-up call. I'm being promised that someone will be out tomorrow, and they are waving the tech fee. I swear to all 3, of the Gods, if someone doesn't show up at my house tomorrow, OR if they charge me one more cent I will close my bank account and they will never see another dime from me again.



I called for help as I was having Financial issues and the person I spoke to only gave me one option. In financial distress I agreed verbally bug never signed the contract I called back two weeks later told them i had the full payment and wanted to keep the current contract.



They said they couldnt go back as I had agreed and they had me in recording. A Company who takes advantage of a customer who is in financial distress is NOT a good company to do business with.



If I could give them a zero I would. Brandon a tech came out to uninstall my alarm. While doing so he messed up my transformer but I had no knowledge of what was really broken. He made it seem it was something basic that could b fixed.



A claims person called me name Bryan King. He gave me options but told me option number 3 which was take a settlement and hire my own person would be the best way to go. Once I hired someone I called him back and told him that was fine.



Electrician came out and let me know that more was damaged than what Brandon the tech told me. So he had to replace a part. Now the cost went up. So, I called Vivint and informed them of what happened and they told me there was nothing they could do at this point.



I told them, I would send the check back with a printout of the bill. They specifically told me NO. I just couldn't believe it. They wouldn't even let me speak to my claims person to explain to him that what he informed me was improper.



In April Vivint decided to change equipment to make it more proprietary exclusive to Vivint. Well lucky me I was moving during that time period and Vivint failed to inform to take the main console to bring to my new house.



Fast forward to September, my new home was finally ready to move into my brand new house and have the Vivint system installed at my new address. Vivint shows up to install as scheduled and asks me for the main console you know the one that I left at the old house as a selling feature that the home has a security system installed and the one that Vivint moving customer service failed to tell me to take with me rendering the old alarm system inoperable.



I was confused as I have previously moved Vivint from one house to another house and have never had to move the console. I refused either options because I had 21 months left on a month "iron-clad contract". I told the technician to stop the install because it was absurd that I had to pay for a console.



The technician removed everything from my house and thought the ordeal was completed. Nope - I continued to be charged for the system even though everything had been taken out of my new house. So I called to inquire as to why I was being charged for with no new service installed.



So I continued to pay for nearly two months before a new technician came out with a "just sign here" contract for months. The technician came back and re-installed everything minus several sensors and thermostat that I had in my other house, which, I didn't discover until the following week.



Fast forward to January - I was expecting to have 4 months left on my original month contract and I wanted to know where to send the day notification to cancel service. I discussed this with the "customer loyalty" service representative for nearly an hour and a half trying to figure out how I got scammed into a month contract considering that my original contract was for months.



I am completely disgusted that the charming technician lied and charmed their way into the signing of a contract that I would never sign. If you value your time, money and sanity, my advice is to not allow Vivint into your house, not even for one second.



They will tell you whatever they have to to get you to initiate their service. I am now stuck with another months of service. Do not trust anyone from Vivint or their "iron-clad contract. The kicker is Vivint refuses to update their outdated equipment unless you pay out-of-pocket or sign a "Brand New" month contract.



I will be so glad when I get rid of this con-artist. This will be reviewed by an attorney as to dispute the contract that I Did Not Agree to a month contract. You Have Been Warned. Fast Forward to November I have moved out of the house where the vivint service was transferred to the new occupant.



Everything was transferred from the account and my name "has been removed" as the account owner. I have been out of the house since July without any incident from vivint. I have now received a past-due notice from Vivint "customer loyalty" that my account is past due and is in jeopardy of being reported to credit bureau.



I receive multiple auto-dialer calls and multiple e-mails a day in regards to the account that everything was transferred out of my name and that I do not have access to review. I called in and was transferred to "customer loyalty" and was given the same speech Mr.



So the nightmare that I thought was over continues. Now I am dealing with the Credit Bureaus as well. Do Not Allow them in your House. There are cheaper and more up-to-date security Smart Home Providers.



Just figured out why so many people evidently speak so badly of this company. When the installer arrived who was pretty nice by the way, it quickly became apparent that my needs would not be met e. I actually picked up one of their cameras and it was cheap plastic and light weight like some child's toy.



I requested the installer to cancel everything. Instead he moved the installation out to a month later and asked me to reconsider. He even put one of their signs in my yard to "keep the bad guys away". I received an email reminder today of my installation.



The email contained a link to change the appt. So this evening I was forced to call the number in the email to cancel. The rep who answered the phone I believe identified himself as "Matt". When I told him I wanted to cancel my appointment and order, he immediately launched into the most unpleasant, belligerent sales mode I have ever experienced.



He first stated he was an account manager and would solve my issues. He insisted on asking a series of sales questions, offered a rebate, then half off my first month. I noted over 6 times that I did not want a sales pitch - I simply wanted to cancel my installation and be done with them.



He simply got more aggressive and belligerent. He refused my repeated requests to cancel my appointment and order. I told him I was going to submit a complaint and he just seemed to chuckle. I also noted that his behavior confirmed my decision to do not business with them.



The really alarming part of this unpleasant experience was that he seemed to be enjoying himself. I finally had to hang up after warning him repeatedly I was about to do so. I took a couple of deep breaths and called the number back and got a different guy who was actually professional.



I explained what had just happened and that I did not want a sales pitch. He was understanding, put me on hold for a couple of minutes and stated everything was now canceled and I would receive a refund on my initial deposit.



After coming here and reading the negative reviews, it's clear I dodged a bullet. I have submitted a complaint to the Texas Attorney General as well. Hopefully they will investigate and take appropriate action against this poor excuse for a company.



I'm glad I didn't sign up after reading some of the reviews. I questioned the very exact issue that customers are complaining here when the Vivint sales reps came knocking on our door. If you have faith in your product, there should not be a need for an iron clad contract.



Many companies have moved away from this business practice as it creates a distasteful impression of their business. If you feel that a Vivint isn't providing you a service that you thought you signed up for, it shouldn't have penalties in breaking the contract as you yourself are not being fulfilled with your contract that you made with Vivint.



I think the business feels too one sided on the long run. Most DIY alarms provide certificates online for insurance discounts as well. They'll creep their way inside your house with a "Can I use your desk to write you the details?



They'll play the "We give you more in person than online. The salesman gave me really weird vibes. His sales tactic was to go on his iPad and show me each person by name in my neighborhood along with their profession and tell me What they got and why.



He was so pushy and seemed really dishonest. If we had questions he didn't seem to like that either. I would never sign up for anything without doing my research and after doing some research now I'm glad I didn't sign a thing.



They showed up at our house at at night. I come back in from taking the dog out and they are in the house with their stuff all set up. Extremely pushy and wont take no for an answer. We agreed to the system knowing we could cancel in 3 days just to get them out of our home!



This was by 9pm and they were still here. We work full time so this is extremely rude on a weeknight with zero appointment. We cancelled right away and if they ask for a reason it was to get their employees out of our home!!!



Here's and idea, call the homeowner and plan a visit. Don't just show up and barge in. Also tske NO for an answer! If I could give this company a lower rating than one star I would! I have been a customer since, and things started out great.

I still have not been able to get anything resolved and my alarm is beeping periodically for the last three months. I did talk to the service department about the no-show appointments, and they told me that it is their policy that is a tech gets busy on a call and can't make their next appointment that they don't bother to tell you that they are not coming.



I don't think this company will be in business much longer with the way that they are treating customers. If it could give them a zero I would. We just moved and tried to schedule a vivint service tech to come and move our system.



One month before we moved they had no appts. Then they scheduled us 2 months out. So I am paying for a security system I can't use. I reached for today. They said they had a different day. And no opens for 30 days.



Yet we have confirmation email saying today. I was on hold for 40 minutes. Lady did nothing to help me. I asked to speak to manager. She hung up on me. Vivint Smart Home Claimed This business has been claimed by the owner or a representative.

So far I have had a very bad experience with your service, they scheduled me an appointment for November The technician never came and called with you and they told me how sorry the technician is resting, the cameras are offline all the time, they put a thermostat.



It's not the one I buy, I'm really disappointed with your service. They broke every appointment they made, they promised to return phone calls that never happened. I felt like I was dealing with uneducated school children.



Too bad their sales and service are Nonexistent. I wound up switching over to ADT and was quite pleased to deal with consummate professionals even though their electronics were not as good. Installer was friendly and courteous!

Now I have a problem with the repair person Nick Noose who was assigned to install, he has not given me two of the z-wave outlet that I paid for and he has been using the excuse that his wife is pregnant that is why he has not given me the 2 z-wave that I paid for!

They explain everything for you before they arrive, then the tech adds more value to the installation. Neat, clean, timely, easy to use. Then the tech makes sure you can operate the system both in the building and on your phone.

So overall I would recommend this alarm service. Very happy with the install process. Tech did a great job and was very professional. There were a couple of issues with submitting documents that delayed the process a bit.



Seemed like a software issue but felt bad that the tech had to sit on the phone with support for an extra hour or so. We had it set up to have our unit uninstalled in our home, then to reinstall in the new home. They came when promised.



The tech ended doing some damage to our wall and ceiling. I called to complain and cancel services. I will never use them again or refer them to anyone. I am still going to have to pay to get out of contract, even though it is a month old.



It is a big gimmick to them. We have had them since All I can say it is bad customer service. We are very happy with our new security system. The whole process from contacting to get a quote to getting installation was great.



We have poor cellular service at our house and they worked very hard to get us equipment that would have enough service to work. Definitely gives me peace of mind having the system. First, the installer Tez was excellent.



I would have cancelled installation without his assistance. I was misled on a number of items by initial sales rep I spoke with. Was told install would be after I was off work. Wrong, had to leave work early.



Was told my hearing impaired daughter, who also lives here, could be emergency contact and she could be contacted via text since hearing on a phone is difficult for her. And the rep I spoke with on the phone during installation pretty much said your company would not work with my daughter.
